It is to provide competent, high quality comprehensive small animal health care services.  Our team members all share this vision.  We are responsible for taking great care of our patients, clients, each other, and our hospital.  We are caring people serving the local and extended community with excellence, compassion and drive.  We have 24 hour emergency coverage and are determined to meet or exceed the expectations of the people we serve and educate.

Our services include promoting responsible pet ownership, annual wellness care, vaccinations, spays, neuters, dental care, 24 hour emergency care, radiographs, internal medicine, general and advanced surgeries.

We are located on the corner of 2nd Street and Laird Avenue, right across from Hastings Water Park.  Our hospital is very easy to get to, and you can find directions on our Contact Us page.

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Conroy acquired her small town hospitality from being born and raised in the community of Wayne, Nebraska.  She excelled at the small animal program of Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and after completing it in May of 2014, came to be the next outstanding asset to our hospital team.  In addition to her love of small animal surgery and medicine, Dr. Conroy has an interest in physical therapy and chiropractic adjustment to help in the recovery and well-being of her patients.  We plan to expand those areas soon!     Companion's Choice welcomed Laura to our team for her veterinary technician internship in May of 2013.  She graduated from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis that fall and passed her boards exam to become licensed in December of 2013.  Laura has a special interest in animal dentistry and intensive care.  Laura is quick to smile and shares her gentle and kind demeanor with every pet and person she meets.  She works diligently at getting all the details right to ensure your furry friend is cared for just how you would want them to be.  Please take a second to say hello to Laura on your next visit!

    Alyssa brings to Companion's Choice several years of service to the veterinary medical community!     Katie joined our team in the fall of 2014.  She is working toward finishing her coursework and taking boards to be a licensed veterinary technician.  When she realizes her dreams in the fall of 2017, she will add anesthesia, dental cleanings and IV injections to her list of skills!   We enjoy her for her calm personality, providing comfort to our hospitalized patients and keeping the treatment area spotless.  Katie is an integral part of our hospital and excels in several areas of patient and client care!!

    Andy came back to our team (after not much persuasion) in November of 2014.  You may know him as the artist behind the snow sculptures around town or as the friendly face who always took such great care of your boarding friends back when we were still Family Pet Health Center!  He is back to caring for the adorable four legged friends he loves. His compassion and genuine thoughtfulness are evident to every team member.  Andy cares for your pets as though they are his own when they stay here and his attention to detail and cleanliness are second to none!  Please take the time to say hello to Andy next time you visit!

    Patient Care Coordinator/Puppy Spunk Defender   

    Katelyn's love of animals led her to join our team in 2013. She is quick to smile and in her time here at the hospital she's developed awesome patient connections. She takes initiative to make your pet's visit to our boarding facility as positive as possible and does a great job of making certain your furry friend is cared for much as they would be by you at home.  She has a passion for working with pets and she is one of the friendly voices you will likely hear when you visit our hospital in the evenings or on weekends!

    Sam joined our team in August of 2014!  He is an integral part of keeping our state of the art facility vibrant and clean.  Sam takes this task very seriously and finds pride in knowing his attention to detail ensures the health and well-being of all of the furry family members who visit us!  Sam loves caring for all types of animals including his own two green anoles (lizards).  While he stays quite busy with school and work, in his free time, he enjoys cross country track and high jump!  He also loves hiking, camping, and just spending time outdoors with his Labrador mix named Marley!

    Kim brings to Companion’s Choice her dedication and intelligence, coupled with a genuine and fierce love of animals.  She excels at solving problems and ensuring patients have the best experience possible at our hospital. When not exercising, feeding, playing with and caring for the needs of our patients here at Companion’s Choice, she attends Hastings College working on her pre-veterinary medicine curriculum.  She is likely to be one of the friendly faces helping your cat and dog friends when they visit our hospital!
